Is it true that there are several tests year 12 does ( I think one is called "RET") which boost your UAI ??? Please explain how this works. I need a UAI of 98 + to get into med, and since i havent studied at all in the prelim (I actually failed ALOT), do you think I have a chance?
The subjects i do are:
Physics
Chem
PD/H/PE
Eng Adv
Mathematics
Studies Of Religion 1unit
Thanks.

The Ret I'm positive does not boost your UAI, it is an alternative method of getting into uni where your RET mark is used as opposed to your UaI

and the UAI is not a percentage, it's a number. it's a rank. so you don't need to write 98% or 95%

If you are failing everything, you are NOT going to get 98+, sorry to be harsh but wake up to yourself. The RET test is a UWS thing whereby the may use ur ret score instead of your UAI if it is better but still within 8 marks, and it cannot be used for the higher courses like law and teaching.

If you want to do medicine, you have to do UMAT, which Im told is a bitch of a thing.

but you know there are alternative methods to get where you want to be. Work your ass off this year, and if it doesn't pay off, try aiming a bit lower for something along the lines of biomedical science (UAI= 92 or so last time i checked), as it allows you to transfer into medecine if you go kickass in it
