Most of it is just general knowledge I hope.

But what shits me is the trigonometric ratios, I can not remember the sin^2x + cos^2x = 1 and all the derivatives of that, fuck.

neither could i in yr11... but after doing a billion questions every day that have to do with it... it gets committed to memory... you cant help it.

i.e. dont worry bout it... you'll know it :)

In the 2003 paper, in my opinion these are the questions that had prelim. stuff:

1(a) division of an interval - 2 marks
1(b) Inequations - 3 marks
1(d) Parametric equations - 2 marks
2(e)(i) Trig. equations - 2 marks
3(a) Permutations - 2 marks
3(c)(i) Probability - 1 mark
4(a) Combinations - 1 mark
4(c) Polynomials - 2 marks
4(d) circle geometry - 6 marks
6(b) Harder geometry - 7 marks
7(a) 3D trig - 4 marks

Total of 32 marks out of 84 = 38%

Isn't probability a yr 12 topic, ditto with permuatations and combinations (as they are part of probability).

don't worry 2 much yr 11 mathematics is so easy! u'll remember stuff for the hsc year! hey it is the foundation for yr 12 mathematics
I was gonna say that.

Most of the HSC stuff is based on what you learn in year 11.

I dont know, my class learnt it in year 11 and only learnt binomial probability in year 12.

As you can see on page 6 of the 2/3 unit syllabus, Permutations and Combinations lie under the preliminary course section. Im confused? My schools weird we learn 3 unit probability in prelim. and 2 unit probability in HSC. Anyway it doesnt matter as long as you learn it in the end.
