Help!!!
I have to do an assessment task on a human rights issue where there has been some recent examples of violations occuring in the world. I'm doing child sex offences but don't know where to look for cases, media reports etc from around the world. Please help!!!!!

What about the mandatory sentencing in WA....and how the boat people are being held in WA, this is a breach of human rights

Child sex offences is definately a violation on human rights. The problem with that topic is that it happens everywhere in the world and is not a specific issue identifiable to human rights. Sex offences would be better suited to the Crimes section.

- The prosecution of Fa Lun Gong in China.
- The possible legislation implemented in Hong Kong which will effectively restrict the country's access to information/media. The prosecution of Fa Lun Gong is also considered.
- Iraq: the Kurds
- East Timor- struggle for soveriengty

For a case study on child sex look up John Arthur Lee who is one of the 6 people in Australia who have been convicted of child sex tourism under the Child Sex Tourism Act 1994.

I think its in the Hienemann 2004 textbook.
