umm...
*it degrades itself without the need of artificial means. For example, cetain bacteria and fungi in nature can break down the polypeptide bonds of the plastic. This avoids the need to degrade the plastic manually and reduces costs, also reduces the pressure exerted onto the environment, as the plastic can now degrade itself, breaking down into basic units that can be used by microorganisms, thus reduces the need for cleaning the debris

sorry, it is messy
but it says some reasons

okays, thanks victor :)

hey just one thing on that, why do they need to be broken down at the first place? taking too much space? killing animals like them beer packs with the fish?

yes
they are waste already, therefore they face treatment such as decomposition, to reduce space( which helps to look more aesthetically attractive), to eliminate the threat of choking animals if they are deposed in nature, also , prevetning from their accumulation on water surface which can cause drastic outcome such as suffocation of marine lives, due to the blockage of sunlight that deters normal photosynthesis and phytoplankton

dun meant to be pedantic, but i fink only biopolymers are biodegradable (can be borken down by bacteria and fungi)... the biopolymer dat possess a polypeptide chain should be nylon(6,6), which is mroe lyk a synthesis fiber...
