Yeh my IEEE1394 looks like them black rectangular-trapeziodal ports 3 of them.

Yeh ive got one on my tablet, but most firewire cables are the larger size - so i can never use it (e.g ipod)

Yes there are!! roaming the wide world like an ant in a desert. (ie. very rare)

i have a 6 pin male that needs to be a 4 pin male...

Heres the correct name and image
The previous one only useful when you have a 6 pin port and you only have 4 pin cables.
(Stuff cut out due to my confusion with USB-Powered Cable)

Well you're probably only interested in 4-pin powered cables. Must use powered cables they have them cylinder-like bulges, which i think accumulates power for use.

What are you talking about? Bulge accumulating power for use?

1394 connection
connected, firewalled
400mbs
1394 net adapter

like i havent connected anything to it yet...
