Your moderated school assessment marks (50% of your hsc marks) are based on your internal ranking, the mark differences between ranks and the performance of your subject cohort. As a part of your cohort you can therefore have some limited impact on your moderated school assessment through exams - for example, if you’re first and then ace the hsc that’ll increase the highest mark, which will be your moderated school assessment mark or in general if you’re in a small cohort and you gain an extra few marks then itll increase your cohorts average performance, and therefore might increase your moderated school assessment mark by a tiny bit
