Well I've made my decision.... and i dont care how pretigious sydney, unsw are i seriously do not give a freak about dat...... i've always had my heart set on MAQ i don't know why but that's where i'm going and I hope i get in!!

Reasons why everyone should consider MAQ!
1. I'm going there!! hehehe
2. Besides the first reason being the most important the fact that MAQ isn't considered the best or worst uni really appeals to me therefore there'll be a variety of people there and I'm going to need balance
nerds + pple that study hard and party hard!! whoo hoo! = balance
3. It's transfer policy is easy... i'm not sure what i want to do fully yet and arts seems like a good way to start finding what would appeal to me...

hahaha im just being a dickhead but yeahh I'm going to MAQ :d just thought i'de share! :D

i haven't decided yet, but i might go there. why? i have always wanted to go there, convenient, flexibility, no stuck up people who wouldn't go anywhere but syd, friendly atmosphere, good campus, strong student network, familiar surroundings

Goodie, more people going to MQ. :D

===
My reason for going to MQ: It takes twenty-thirty minutes by bus.
(Whereas, USyd would take, at least, one-hour plus; and UNSW would take, at least, one and a half hour plus.)

i was talking to someone yesterday, and they were telling me BESIDES the course:

judge first on location. why travel when you don't need to?
judge second on how comfortable you feel there as especially first year will be hard to settle in
i can't remember the third thing to think about

do a lot of the people who go to mac live close by? so friends live close? i can understand why someone who lives very far away will prefer to go to usyd, as it may be closer for them than mac.

You've won me over, almost. :p

I think I've crossed MQ off my list, sorry! It's just too far, for me.

What about UTS? I'm becoming a UTS supporter, going from being a UNSW supporter. I think I've made up my decision, to follow in fatmuscle's footsteps, LOL. :)

MAQ is kinda far from me... they say USYD and UNSW is easier for me to get to by public transport and it is further to drive to .... i'll have to take the M2 and it'll take 35-40 minute drive to get there.... but my mum says that a lotta people in our area goto MAQUARIE and hence derz a bus dat goes past my house that goes directly to the MAQUARIE campus WHOO HOO! I save on petrol :D

sorry to hear that you've crossed MAQ off your list Huy... oh well ... we should all one day meet... all ov us boredofstudies regular posters (hehehe im starting to get addicted to this board, even more so that the HSC is over hahahaha)

clairegirl,

I don't know a thing about driving, but I know the M2 is a motorhighway. All universities are far for me, with the exception of UWS (Bankstown campus), which is fairly close. USYD and UNSW are pretty easy to get to, but the last time I went to USYD, I had to walk for a little while from Redfern Station (although I'm sure there are bus services to the University of Sydney, as with all universities).

BOS (should) be able to plan and organise/run an Internet meet in a social setting, as there are talks of a BBQ (or rather, rumours/whispers). I wouldn't mind going to MQ, if I lived a little closer to the city - I just don't want to get up at say, 5am each morning, shower (for half an hour to an hour, I just don't know how time flies in the shower -- don't get any ideas :p), followed by twenty minutes of walking to the train station, waiting for another five to ten, another hour by train, possibly ten to twenty minutes by train -- it all adds up in the long run. By the time I get to MQ, it would have been 8am; although this may be a 'slight' exaggeration. ;)

About being addicted to this board -- I'm glad that you've decided to be a part of this community, after the HSC. If you were to frequent this board during it's peak (before, during, after Trial HSC Exams and before, during, and after HSC Exams) - all year round, I should think that your marks would have been affected, although not severely.

Enjoy the forums, :)

I'll (probably) be going to macq for two reasons:

1. The reputation of their actuarial studies.
2. This.
