Hi,
na, i think your teacher has a problem here! The imperial women played an important part in Rome in the C.1st. some, actually i think most of the imperial women back then carried the blood of Augustus which was very important. Agrippina, livia, and julia used their blood relation or marraige to Augustus to exercise power (livia) for example. Claudius and Agrippina are a good example here, It is quite possible that one reason Claudius married agrippina was to legitamise his rule in Rome; you see he had no blood relation to Augustus which was an important thing to have, so if he married Agrippina who did have Augustan blood his rule you could say was more legitimate to the people of Rome.

Here are some websites that might be of some use:
* www.roman-emperors.org/livia.htm
* www.csun.edu/~ncfll004/junas.html
*www.middlebury.edu/public/russian/Bulgakov/public_html/messalina.html
* www. realm-of-shade.com/RomanaeAntiquae/empresses.html

I hope some of this makes some sense! good luck.

hey thats no problem, i have the opposite problem my teacher gives me notes galore. It is good in that you have plenty of notes to refer to but there seems like too many notes sometimes.
