i think i got rorted
im not sure

this is what i got paid for 2 weeks worth of work
$723

and they taxed me $202

so i only ended up getting $521

das like a 30% tax !!!!!!

did i get rorted? or is this normal?

It depends on your total yearly income....if in the end of the year, you only end up earning like 6000 bucks...then you could file for a reimburstment of the 202$'s that you got taxed, since that you are still under the bracket...so in the end, the amount of tax that you pay depends on how much you earn in the end...

Income tax works on the premise that they assume you are going to be earning $723 a week for every week of that financial year. It's the normal tax rate for what you are earning but if you earn less than $6000, you should be eligble to get all your tax back and if you earn over $6000 but less than the tax bracket you are paying now, you should be able to get a portion of your tax back.

yeah so you weren't rorted, if you earn less than $6000 you'll get it back
