ok so our student body at campus east, called the r.a are seriously looking at becoming incorporated... we have incidents with people being injured and its more a matter of covering the arses of the r.a executive. ie myself and my 7 other colleagues haha

my question for you law boffins (i only did one session of law i hated it) is
how does a body such as a student organisation become incorporated?

*what are the fees involved?
*where do we go to begin the process?
*what criteria do we have to fufil?
*what legal restrictions does becoming incorporated put on us?
*what rights does it give us?

i have a general idea of what it entails, i was just wondering if any of you had had any experience with incorporation law, and if you could help me out

Associated Incorporations Act and Regulation is the place to look.

Application for incorp. - $96 s5 of the reg.
