im a bit lost cause isnt NaF a basic salt so orange is base therefore none of these are correct?
naf is a basic salt, but compare it to the other substances: kcn for example - is made up of a weak (conjugate) acid (of KOH) and a weak base, and caco3, which is made up of a relatively strong conjugate acid and strong base - kind of. + in comparison, naf is created from the reaction of a strong base naoh with a weak acid hf. i believe this is based on relative observation, so it would make sense for the orange to be marked as neutral when you compare the strength of naf with the other two bases
another way to look at it is (which is kind of ignoring the nature of naf ngl) that since red is one end of the spectrum (acid, determined by nh4no3), and yellow is on the other (base, determined by the cyanate and the carbonate), substances close to pH 7 would be roughly a mix of the two, which is orange
