Thats mainly because there is none.

Well there are a few but they are marginal. They are mainly microeconomic policies aimed at improving efficiency in the labour market. For example think about things like apprenticeships etc etc. Under the Howard government the bulk of the policies were administered by the jobs network however Rudd has dismantled this and I think the idea is to put in something different. I dont know much about this though.

USUALLY macroeconomic policies (fiscal and monetary) are not used to influence unemployment, but it could be said that in the current financial crisis ; fiscal policy is being used to stimulate the economy and job creation is a side effect. The same cannot however be said of monetary policy which primarily deals with inflation, and even in the current situation, the reason there has been a loosening of monetary policy has been due to the lack of availability of credit.
