when they say.. if f(x) is odd then int. of a and -a = 0

does that mean after nteagrating if the function is odd then = 0 or before?

If the function is odd, and the limits are a and -a, where a is any number then the integral is equal to zero

The function should be odd before integrating, but you shouldn't integrate normally anyway as it is odd and it should be zero no proof needed. Except stating that the function is odd, and possibly proving it is odd. But if the limits are not opposite in signs, it wouldn't equal zero
