Find the indefinate integral of....

(a)

ò(x^6 - 3x^5 + 2x^4) dx
x^3

answer:
x^4 - x^3 + x^2 + c
4

(b)

ò(4x^3 - x^5 - 3x^2 + 7) dx
x^5

2) also,
- why is there a "dx" at the end ? what does that mean?

(a + b + c + d)/e = (a/e) + (b/e) + (c/e) + (d/e)

dx means with respect to x? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Divide the numerator by the denominator, then integrate.

2) ò..... dx together denote integration. Sometimes the integrand may have variables other than x, ò....dx means to integrate with respect to x only.

yea i'm pretty sure thats what it means, just wasn't sure why its always on the end there....

ò(x^6 - 3x^5 + 2x^4) dx
x^3

i did try seperating them....

eg
x^6
x^3 etc

but then what do i do next?

its meant to be

x^(n+1)
n+1

but there's x on both numerator and denominator......?
