how do u know when to put absolute value on qn?
is it when u get a negavitve valus for area always?

intergration gives you the area between the curve and the axis
and you obtain an negative answer whenever the area is on the negative side of the axis

you use abosulte value when they ask you for an area not then value

because you cannot have a negative area ><

Draw a quick sketch of the curve, finding the x intercepts and the region where it is below the x axis. Then split the integration between those limits and the answer should be negative hence absolute value it to obtain a positive answer
