This is totally untrue. Who told you that? The internal transfer policy will still be in place. Only where degrees are not available through the internal transfer policy you have to apply through UAC.

I'd be surprised if the uni actually scrapped their transfer policy, after all MQ promotes its self as 'innovative', 'flexible', etc, with the relative ease of internal transfer being one of their biggest selling points.

Even Law is not done via the UAC. However, they leave themselves with some room by putting a "admission to quota" clause in the prereqs.

Then MQ accepts/favours a UAC preference from their students - or they favour internal applications ?
If they do accept you - do you have "re-enrol" ? And pay 2005 fees ?
Are you considerd a 2nd or 1st year student ....even though you fulfilled your new degrees core subjects? (e.g estudent add/drop units)

Im thinking it would.
Because you have to un-enrol, then re-enrol... :(

umm.. i used to know the answer about the changing degrees question. i think if it's a transfer it doesn't, but if it's a total new degree it does

not that it matters anyway

actually if you trasnfer internally or via uac, you will fall under the new hecs system because you gotta fill out a new hecs/tax form... but since mq isn't increasing its fees, it won't matter...

as for mq scrapping their internal trasnfer policy, i asked and they said they weren't...
