I'm using it to post this.

So far it seems pretty nice. It'll definately stem the flow of people to firefox.
A bit slower than firefox 1.1 beta though.

to install it on XP you need to validate your copy of windows is genuine. However my pirated copy validated fine :/

I'm keen to see the new IE7, but whatever new features it will have will most likely be made for firefox fairly quickly.

The only way I can see IE7 go back to the lime-light is if they made it open source or made their websites only compatible with IE.

That's my two cents anyways.

Only thing i could really see new is the tabbed browsing.

They'll have to do better than that if they want me to switch back from FF

and RSS and phishing detector.

They do RSS alot better than firefox, but nothing yet compares to safari.

I'd like to see an increase in security before I consider it. If Mozilla can do it, I'm sure Microsoft can.

The layout peeves me off. Plus, there still appears to be quite a bit of work to do - they've seemed to tack a few new features onto the main bits of IE6, but not too much else apart from the tabbed browsing. I will be interested to see what it finishes up as, though.

Imo it's not security... its that the hackers out there target Internet Explorer and not Firefox.

I agree to an extent - IE has 100 fold the users, therefore more people likely to find security holes. Unfortunately Firefox exploits will probably be found , however it is inherently more secure in disabling ActiveX and other nasties that don't have to ask for permission first.

So yes, IE is flawed because of the magnitude of it's use, but many of the security holes could be closed.

firefox has its own system of themees, addons and that sort of shit which makes it more attractive over IE, (apart from the security increase in firefox)

ive been a proud firefox user for almost 2 years ;D

IE7 = win. It uses like 1/4 the memory that FF was because it had an awful memory leaking problem.

hmmm it also seems to handle images differently from IE6. It automatically resizes the image to the window size (like firefox does)
