Hi,

How do you find the difference of two different inverse functions such as f(x)= 2tan-1 √x and g(x)= sin-1 (x-1)/(x+1)?

Since it differ by a constant.

I know the difference is pi/2 using a graphing calculator.

Thanks

For starters, show that the two functions have the same (continuous) domain.

If you differentiate each, you will get the same answer.
Therefore they differ by a constant.
Sub in a value (such as x=0) to find this difference.
