Hey,
Im planning to buy a pocket pc for uni and home. Prob use it to look up names of drugs, medical definitions etc. at home mainly. Do you ppl reckon it is worth it to buy one just for this? I mean how useful is it? If i buy one, i'll prob buy a
HP iPAQ rx1955 Pocket PC
http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping...helds&aoid=1462

Would this be able to install drug programs etc. and be fast to work these programs? I'll prob ask the shopkeeper anyway but just wanted to get some info b4
And to those who have one...do they break easily coz im planning not to upgrade the warranty?
And what other stuff can u do on these? Also im not sure what it means by this

# 32MB SDRAM, 64MB Flash ROM
# • Up to 36MB user-accessible memory

And there's a SD slot...so i would prob have to buy a SD card to install many programs rite?

thanks

I've owned several PDAs in the past. I mainly use it for organising/Sync-ing with Outlook though.. and lately I've been getting the PDA phones to save me from carrying two separate devices. Don't ask us if the drug problems will work.. we don't know anything about the software. You can't just install any software onto a PDA.. even the Windows-based iPAQs. That's something you need to find out.

As for extended warranty, I personally don't bother (like most extended warranty products IT salesmen try to 'upsell' you to increase their commission and the sale's profitability) - but others may find it worthwhile.

As for the memory, 36MB of the memory is accessible by you. SD cards are mainly for data storage on Windows Mobile 3.0/5.0 PDAs. Use the 36MB user-accessible memory for software installation.
