Raw mark - what you score.
Aligned mark - what NESA tells you you got.
Scaled mark - the mark used to calculate your ATAR.
Put the aligned mark into HSCNinja, and you get the scaled mark out of 50.
If you want to know the raw mark you require to get that aligned mark, you use rawmarks info.

I think you're missing what yooook wants because he's asking people for their IPT raw vs scaled marks, not the purpose and role of each indicator.

I provided a process. Raw - Aligned (Rawmarks info). Aligned - Scaled (HSCNinja Atar Calc).

Just additional info:
1 Unit is equal to 50 marks. 10 units used in calculation for HSC gives a total of 500. The total scaled score out of 500 gives your ATAR. For 2 unit courses it becomes 2 x mark out of 50, and for 1 unit courses it is the mark out of 50.

thanku,

but also, say i got 80, 85, 90 in ipt raw mark, what would an aligned mark be around?

rawmarks info is your best bet. No one actually gets raw marks from NESA. You have to buy your paper for like $30 to see how many marks you got in externals. rawmarks compiles the marks of people who bought their paper. As such, not every mark is covered, you can only approximate.

I don’t think I was too badly impacted by scaling (98/100 exam mark, assessment and hsc overall). But I also didn’t give much thought to scaling concepts and just tried to do my best.

Well, you did state rank in your lowest scaling subject. And scaling doesn't matter as much in mid-high band 6 range.

The point I wanted to get to is I never thought much about scaling back when I did my HSC once I had selected my subjects which I was interested in.
