Now that some of us are doing Ireland, I'm going to pelt you with a couple of questions... I know not everyone's finished the topic but I'll try my luck anyway.
- the 'Women's Peace Movement' referred to in the syllabus timeline and also in a past HSC question (2001 I think)-- is that the same as Betty Williams and Maireed Corrigan's Peace People? It's hardly all women, but I can't find any other prominent peace group. That said, can you also classify 'peace movements' as actual treaties and decisions eg Sunningdale, Anglo-Irish Agreement etc?
- importance of the European parliament in the Northern Irish problem-- well, was it important? what did it achieve? I'm so bare on this issue...
- in an essay question on the consequences of the deployment of troops, can you basically rattle on right up to 1998? Or do they mean the immediate consequences?
