i feel so guilty when that happens and keep beating myself up for it

but some days (consecutive) pass and i just genuinely dont feel like studying

my grades so far have been good (if anything im impressed i started immediately with 80% as my lowest so far) but idk how long i can keep it up
im particularly struggling with procrastination and motivation

the solution for motivation, according to many, is: just work
but i find it hard to work diligently and if anything more than one page worth of studying

its been 3 days since the holidays (4 including today) and i havent done anything except for maybe one page of physics

i have a lot to do but idk i just dont feel like studying:
eco exam
physics exam
math ext exam
othello
chem
bio

I'll be real with you. This will be one of your last holidays left until HSC finishes, where you have the freedom of not having any high stakes exams that count. I'd recommend you have a real break, because I locked in during these holidays last year and now I'm crying becuase I don't actually have a holiday now, since HSC is around the corner. Of course, it would be ideal to have some study, but you should at least have some time of. Hot tip - the holidays after prelims - DO NOTHING! That is legitimately the last time you can afford to do absolutely nothing.

What I mean is that you will have enough time to study but also rest. Just don't beat yourself up if you don't do much. I would've much rather done no work rather than have no break and just locking in. Learn from my mistakes - DON'T GREIVE ACTUAL HOLIDAYS! 😭 .

If you force yourself to study, your subconcious mind will establish studying as a chore. When year 12 started, I just gaslighted myself into thinking that I was a genius even though I'm not. Make it fun! You know yourself more than anyone else. Do what you think is right, even if people say its wrong. Bestie, this is your life. YOU HAVE FREE WILL! But genuninely, have a break. I beg you!

honestly I did nothing in the yr 11 holidays. In 12 I took most of my holidays as breaks asw with study towards the end. Don't beat yourself up about it, allow yourself a break you're working so hard, you don't want to burn out.

if you need/want to study or ease some of the guilt, work out essential things you should do and set yourself a 5-minute timer. This always worked for me (i lacked motivaiton) and it was no stress, just 5 minutes to which I'd always end up going over the 5 minutes. Its like something in my brain would let me do it as it was just a short amount of time??

I got a 96 in a pretty shit school and in year 11 I don't remember studying once in the holidays, its alright to not study and procrastinate lol you'll get your motivation when the time is right. When it was nearing the end of year 11 I started studying for 5 minutes a day before going into year 12 and this helped me build discipline. Plus you seem pretty smart and you've proved that before so I believe that you'll eventually lock in for your hsc. Just start slow and don't push it, a big help was forget your phone in year 12, its hard but it'll save you. Good luck Jacob
