Is Liar Liar a valid related text for "Telling the Truth" (1 Viewer)

I was wondering whether it would be valid to use the movie Liar Liar, starring Jim Carrey, as my related text. I was thinking of useing the angle of the exaggerated character traits to prove a point and that the director is satirising the fact that everybody lies.
Is this enough to create a substancial argument?
