Is Physics that hard? (1 Viewer)

I just started the yr 12 course, and I have to admit, I haven't totally adapted to Physics.

I failed my Prelim exams, all of them! I haven't passed a single exam in Physics yet, however, I haven't done any work either!

I'm finding that I am understanding some of the concepts in the HSC course - we're doing Motors and Generators first - and after the teacher explains it a few times I understand it.

I heard a lot of people doing Physics in this forum achieving 80s and 90s, treating it like any other subject.

Does anyone have any good tips/advice for studying this so I can achieve 80s and 90s.

Thanks in advance.

its not that hard if you apply yourself, at least occasionally.
DIY dotpoint summaries are good to make sure you put the content into your own words, that way you understand it. and regular questions should help things sink in a bit

Physics is no where near the hardest subject in HSC, although close to the top, and no where near as hard as it could be. Summaries are the best method of grasping the concepts, most people who have done well in here have made their own notes so you can use them to help make your own. Mostly it is just remembering facts and historical events

I agree. It isn't as difficult as people make it out to be. I liked the HSC course much better and I found it easier as well.

Do Summaries, read ahead of class so at least the concept (you don't have to understand it entirely) is familiar and instead of working out what the motor effect is for example you can grasp what causes it as the teacher explains it in class.

My teacher sux....all he says is.."look, don't ask why u have to understand this....you just do".......and he's always going on about how we have to teach ourselves and how it's up to us to complete all the outcomes.

I thought he was supposed to be the TEACHER!!!

hmmm....i'm droping it anyway...i have more important subjcts that i want to put effort into next year.

I tend to think that physics is one of the more easier subjects...lol this may sound funny but i actually found prelim physics way harder than HSC physics. The stuff in the HSC course is actually interesting and makes sense.

Funnily enough, it scales lower than chemistry.
It may scale lower, but this may be due to the people who take up the physics course compared to the chemistry, and could easily change this year or in any year. In my opinion its easier to go better in physics than chemistry

 I take it you haven't done motors and generators yet...

Motors and generators is quite interesting. It also is very relevant to the real world on a scale in which it has practical applications.

Not really, geophysics would be boring. Motors and Generators isn't highly captivating but it isn't that boring.

And it has uses, which many people always question the practical use of, as opposed to things like Astrophysics which has minimal practical use.
