What im actually asking is: would a math/science person such as I succeed in this field? Currently my subjects are: 4u math, 4u english, physics and chemistry. I'm topping everything except english. I don't like writing, reading etc (i.e. english), but I can do it relatively well because Im overall an adaptable person. But I know as a certainty Im not a natural at humanities subjects. So having said that, would people like me struggle in Law? or would I be able to succeed, having a logical mind?

Yeah... quantitative is a good word to describe my mind at the moment. Is the law more qualitative? Trying to fish a yes/no answer out of a sludge mixture of conflicting evidence...

hmmm it may be relevant that im a real nitpicker when it comes to technicalities, would that help in Law?

the only thing i would say, is that everyone i have talked to who does/did/teaches law has said that you have to like reading because there is HEAPS of reading. which is fine for me, i love reading, as well as being a more maths/science person, (bio, chem, 3u maths) . So if you find reading really boring........could be a long 5 years........

Language is the most important key to law. That said, you need to be able to reason well too, so logic abilities are important. In my opinion however there isn't that much I can see a mathematical background would bring to the learning process in law. Philosophy courses in logic will equip you to deal with reasoning and learning in law far better than any amount of maths or science. Of course this doesn't mean you're at any disadvantage for having these skills! You should be happy you have a broad spectrum of abilities.

Surely though if you're doing 4U English you can't be that bad at English? Maybe you're being too hard on yourself. Capacity is different to motivation obviously. If you can do well at English but you don't like it, then so long as you work, you'll be fine - it just means you might not enjoy the work as much.

Contrary to popular belief there isn't an excessive amount of reading in law. Sure, there is probably more than other subjects, but it is often more the demanding nature of the reading than the quantity.

If you can tackle 4U English and 4U maths I'm sure you can 'succeed in this field'. From what you've said seems to be more about would you want to be in this field?

Oh, and nitpicking is good :)

If you put in the time and effort for the law course then surely yes, I think you would fair relatively well against other students. However, the thing inhibiting peak performance, IMO, would be your lack of interest for the subject (reading, writing) and that would be rather disadvantageous I guess.
I would disagree with Moonlight about the quantity of reading involved in a law course. That, IMO, might be because I'm only in first year and Moonlight has become used to the copious amounts of reading involved. I was hit by the amount of readin required before each seminar and struggled to finish on time. (Mainly because I was fairly laid back...still am. :p), so I guess Moonlight's comment would be more accurate. I do, however, agree with the level of reading involved. :)
