I'm not really sure how to do the synopsis - they have us a little booklet explaining the ISP and it just says
"a short statement giving an overview of the project".
Can anybody extend on that? And how long is a 'short statement'?

Also, what do you write for 'methods of inquiry used' - does it mean contacting organisations, etc.?

Cheers

A synopsis is a brief outline or general view. Its up to you how short it is, taking into consideration that there is a word limit you should work out how long you will make it.

methods of inquiry USUALLY refers to what you are going to use ie internet, primary sources, interviews etc

the synopsis is (as AC said) an overview. It SHOULDNT be apart of your word limit .: a (good) ISP synopsis would be approx. half a page given that a (good) ISP report should be about 4-6 pages

My Report has to be 1000-1200 words - over that, and I get penalised

but your synopsis shouldnt be a part of the report. Its like there being a word limit on the diary...most schools replace the diary with a synopsis or combine them
