There will be an IT Employers Night on Friday, the 24th of September at 5pm at the University of Wollongong campus (building 20 room 4). This event was organised by the SITACS Students Society and the Australian Computer Society (ye, ye, I know a lot of you aren't fans of the ACS but oh well...).

There will be presentations about employment prospects, ranging from positions with large multinational organisations to contracting work. Everyone is invited to attend, not only UOW students. It's open to everyone who currently have or looking at careers in IT. There will be talks on IT trends and what employers will be looking for. There will be several speakers from industry including Prof. Philip Ogunbona (SITACS Head of School, UOW).

High school students also interested in IT courses are encouraged to attend.

Is it appropriate for first years to go as well? Or should we leave it to high school students and graduating students?

It's for everyone! Invite your friends!
The turnout of first years today was pretty good. Considering I expected it to consist of Jeff, Mark, Gareth and myself. I'm impressed.

We need more first years, I keep being told though.
