Why does iTunes like to play the next song even when the current one hasn't finished yet? This is especially the case when the song starts to lower it's volume...u know, when most songs finish they still don't go crazy with the music and all...can i remedy this? Also, what is in version 4.9? is it worth downloading? Thanks.

4.9 supposedly updates a few library objects and creates a new database, but the firmwares supposedly break quite a few things, so unless its needed don't upgrade

How do I play illegit music on iTunes?
This question is asked because I want to avoid doing so. Illegit music is illegal and unfair to the artists.

and last time i downloaded/updated, there was no difference, not that I noticed anyway.

I'm not sure why everyone has a fuss about how itunes can't play music that isn't bought from some cd store/itunes.

I believe (not that I would ever do such a terrible unlawful thing, I mean, I don't wanna steal from the artist) that my computer (which is nothing special), is able to save downloaded music into a folder (with consent of the artist, purely for promotional purposes eg local bands etc) and I can simple click "add file to library", locate the file, and it plays.

Not sure why any illegit songs would be any different. Why, do you think there is a particular problem if you hypothetically did such a thing?

I don't personally think there is a problem at all. The forum rules just restrict me from openly discussing its benefits (which I hear from people) if I ever decided to do such an thing.

I do understand that downloading music without consent from the artists is immoral and illegal.

No, it isn't, Mednez. Many mp3s are freely and legally available in this country, so to apply a blanket statement along the lines of "downloading music files is an illegal act" doesn't make much sense. However, I do realise that it it covers your arse as the sub-forum's moderator (and the admins as owners of this site, too).

However, I should add that just because a group (be it an artist/artistic group, production studio or radio station, or other) may provide a file may for download, that doesn't necessarily mean that it is being made available for sharing between peers.

Like i said, it's in the interests of the forum rather than those using it. Im sure none of them want to go through the hassle of getting rung up etc. If you would like to provide your details, then i could personally forward it to the police if you feel so strongly that no one will be getting sued or arrested.

There is now legal authority to support the proposition that hyperlinking to sites which host pirated material is sufficient to constitute an infringement of copyright: Universal Music Australia Pty Ltd v Cooper [2005] FCA 972.

The test appears to be whether the administrator authorised the infringement of copyright by "permitting or sanctioning and facilitating" the infringement through his or her website. In this particular case, scripts behind the website accepted hyperlinks that were submitted by users, and those hyperlinks were then automatically published. Disclaimers informing users as to their obligations under copyright law were no protection.

Not being a lawyer and only a lay person, I think that precludes any encouragement of such notions.

Im not entirely sure upon the legal concepts behind the discussion of illegal concepts as such, but since your example held illegal downloading and in reference to previous questions on the legality of mp3 downloads.
