Honestly, I don't think about what the verbs mean. Some people study them here. You eventually do so many past papers that you figure things out pretty well.

Curious, what subjects are you doing that require you to reword the question when you start the response. You should aim to make your first sentence provide your personal view or an expansion on the question. Also, in subjects like English, it is important that you use key words from the question. That shows that you are directly answering the question.
