This James Hardie thing looks like it is gonna take ages to sort out, if it ever does. They are only willing to fund the compensation agency, provided they remove their rights to sue in the future. Which seems rather a stupid idea to agree to, and they aren't. DO u think the federal government should do anything to spend up the process, and what can they do? The state and local governments have issued a boycott of their products, but is that effictive enough, and is it still working. And then there is the huge payouts given to their former senior employees.

Hmmm, not quite sure what to think about the whole situation, seems a case of the private sector manipulating the whole system of fairness and justice, and getting away with it. What do u guys think...........

The boycotts won't actually work, because the sad irony is that the boycotts are illegal, breaching the Trade Practices Act.

And if I'm not mistaken, the Australian government can't do anything, since its a company based in the Netherlands or somewhere close to there.

yeah true about the whole being based in Holland thing, that makes it difficult. But u would think Downer would be doing stuff with the Dutch government and trying to somehow get something done together with their government to achieve justice.

Do you really think James Hardie care if we don't buy any of there products? Our council voted against the boycott (don't ask me why-our council are fuck wits) but the community are gonna try and put it on the table again-even though it won't do anything.
