i was really depressed on how i will not do well in the hsc this yr....because there always other gay people saying shit you wont do well and get a good HSC/UAI because i did all these considerly LOW scaling subjects....and they think really low of you.

and another thing.....i go to a govenment school and you tend to get a mix of assholes and all they do is bludge and muck around since i do subjects like gen maths, IT etc......if they not trying their best to get a decent HSC then they should leave and do something else...

thats all i wanted to say

Ignore them. I know it's hard when you're at a public school, because I've been in a situation like you where the students were equally as lacking in terms of discipline, and never took their work seriously. You're clearly like I was, when you're just aiming to do well but everyone else makes it so damn hard for you to achieve your goal, because they just demoralise you.

I feel for you. Just think, in less than a year it'll be over: just put your head down and go for it, and leave all those suckers in the gutter. They don't deserve to even attempt the HSC.

not all government schools are like that... i don't think it being government has any relevance, but anyway.

I know a person's daughter who did

Dance, Visual Arts and all these low scaley subjects

and she got a 99. (Principal's daughter)

It IS possible.

So do it. Don't let it distract you.

If you put in the effort, I don't see how it could stop you.

I did "Low" scaling subjects at school - even though I was strongly advised against them. I still did them - cause they were subjects that I wanted to do. Not what my parents wanted me to do or what my school wanted me to do. I got alright marks - so what if i didn't get a uai of 99.99 - the uai is irrelevant after your accepted into uni. But the thing is that now I doing the course that I really wanted to do.

we have ppl like that in our year, in fact im pretty sure u get them at any school u go to, the deros who just cant be bothered and are only there cuz they got nothin else to do. they can be annoying, but i dont mind them because i know most of them will end up dropping out anyway before the hsc.

anyway, if you just do the very best YOU can, then those few who dont care wont affect your marks that much, plus you'll look like a total star next to them when you get all 90's and they get crap.

I ignored all comments like that. Because I did general maths, poeple thought i was a dumbass. But at the end, those people made those comment didn't get into uni at all, and my UAI was much higher than them.

There are always some assholes fucking around in class. There were a lot in my classes. The only answer to that is to do the very best you can and minimise the effect of they scale your mark down. The higher rank you got, the less you will get effected by the scaling. I reckon the school, even government school should kick out those fuckers who fuck around in class, and won't even try in exam. Year 11/12 are no longer compulsory, they can leave whenever they can.

Good luck with your HSC :)
