Hey everyone,
Ive got a reading task coming up in a few days where we have to write responses on a number of unseen texts relating to journeys and I was just wondering whether anyone has any tips on how to do well in this sort of exam.

The questions will always revolve whats the journey(s) took place, how it effected the charaters, what kind of techniques used to indicate the journey(s). Study the techniques would help.

+This is pretty much preparing you for hsc conditions where you're given a bundle of unseen texts to analyse. i think you should practice by pulling out different materials off the internet/newspaper including cartoons/poems to practice analysing and annotating the texts
+know your text types well as they can ask you to write a response in any text type
+as gough whitlam said, know your teachniques back to front
+Make sure you stick to the question and not dwell off into recounting the texts, but to argue their purpose (your focus journey)
+In each paragraph, you should say:
WHAT is being said (your focus journey)
HOW is it being said (your technique)
EVIDENDCE that it is being said (quote)
and WHAT is the VALUE of it being said (what effect it gives, and why it is important regarding the focus journey)

Hey thx guys for the tips....i just wana inform u that i did very well 14/15 :) !! . Just some xtra pointers ive picked after doin the test is that you've relly got to use ur reading time well to read the texts and to make a mental note of all the techniques, themes, etc, because you dont relly get much time to go though the texts again and secondly you've relly got to keep on writing no matter what as you will be rushed. It also helps if you rush through the early questions as they are worth the least marks to allow you to spend more time on the latter questions which are worth the most marks.
