Karyotype analysis examines the number, shape, length and banding patterns of chromosones in organisms. A karyotype is the visual appearnce of chromosones. This invloves photogrpahs of cells during meiosis beign taken and chromosones being cut out ansd sought out into homologous paris form largesrt to smallest. The similaritres and diffeences are thenm anaylsed throught the locatiuon of the centromeres, length and banding patterns.
This shows that apes have 48 chromosones whilst humans have 46 chromosones. However it also shows that chimps are more closely related to humans than gorillas due to 13 chromones with idental danding patterns.
