Anyone got an idea or tips of how to critical analyses particular scenes in a play??
In particular the last scene, what is the importance of it and what is Shakespeare trying to say?

oiiiiiii!

Usually in shakespeare the highest ranking survivor speaks the closing lines. Because we have to look at other versions of the play check out if they have changed who speaks those particular lines.

In terms of critical analysis of particular scenes, look at the different themes and issues i.e. madness and then choose scenes that depict lears madness, goneril and regan's madness or both.

If the whole shakespear language thing makes the 'essence' of the play hard to understand grab a copy of sparknotes no fear shakespeare version of king lear - i got mine from the library... for every page of the play on the opposite side there is a 'plain english' page that kind of translates the shakespeare crazy speak - v.v.v.v helpful!!

I hope thats of help to you :)
