i swear there was a thread sumwhere here that had a link to a pdf wif all these language techniques but i jus cant find it! >< argh. can sum1 plz post up a list of the EFFECTS of common language techniques. i can identify them but explaining the effect is anotha thing. i kno the effect depends on the text but can u do a model/general effect. eg metaphor has underlying meaning representative of sumfin else etc etc perhaps knowin that i do skrzynecki, wind in the willows, emma&clueless n wild swans as texts for modules helps?

- synadoche (did i spell it right?)
- rhythm (does it merely emphasise sumthing or is there more)
- alliteration (ditto)
