Hey, I need to buy a need laptop for <$600 that is capable of running photo editing software i.e. cs5.1, and be able to run a lot of apps at once, i.e. good cpu. I can't find any in my price category, can any1 help?

does a mad job with school shit... bought mine 2 years ago, still works like magic... would be nice if it had the battery power of a Macbook, sound on it is pretty crappy too (doesn't matter I use headphones) other then that its awesome for the price and the time I bought it... really, really good budget laptop...

pretty much got music going, schoolwork and browsing interwebs and handles it fine... That being said, its obviously not a gaming laptop or anything... I do have a SNES emulator and shit on it too kill time...

Anyways, for photo editing i would recommend having at least 4gb of ram for cs5. Doesn't mean you can't have less (i did before) but it's a real pain in the ass, now with 8gb i easily have 15 + photos (20mb- raw format) without any lag or photoshop crashing at all. If you're doing video that

You would also want a decent screen if you're editing photos, however you're not going to get much for under $600.
