Problem:

ozseek has no competition

Solution:

Develop competing solution and distribute it for free :p

-----------------------

This will encourage ozseek to be made better if they still want
the $15. I am not trying to make Lazarus poor.

The competing solution will be made in JAVA so it can be run
on any system (Windows, Linux, Apple, Solaris, etc.).

Version 1.0 (planned released date Q1 2004)
This version will contain similar features to the current UAI seeker

Version 2.0(planned release date Q2/Q3 2004)
This will be an advanced version written in JAVA 1.4.2 assuming
Microsoft release SP1a for winxp. If UAI seeker isn't significantly
updated this version will blow it away. :D

final note:
please don't pm/email me offering help in coding.
I will release source code around Q2/Q3 2004.

It's not hard to make one.

You just need some moderate programming skills and be able to understand most of the UAC published documents.

i doubt it generates primary revenues
i hope u understand there are absolutely so many users coming on just to find out what they might achieve in the HSC, and people will undergo any step to find out, im sure within a month they do have roughly 15 - 20 students purchasing the UAI Seeker

I will see what laz says
hmmm good, well you see Laz really was the creator of such a good idea, and made it working all nice, and after all im sure this forum had helped ur knowledge on the UAI system broader, thus allowing u to make such program, making a program like this wouldn't be much hard other wise working out the algorithm of the process of obtaining a UAI.

LOL! Why would Laz compete against himself, and reduce his own profit margins? :D

Hmm.

What's actually wrong with the UAISeeker? It needs updating... ? What is there to update?

I think the main reason why more features haven't been added is simply because I don't have the time. There really isn't too much you could add anyway; at least not for the average user, who isn't too interested in statistics.

I like the suggestion, but I'm not sure that the terms are fair. The only time I have for serious programming is during my holiday breaks - next one is from December to February (inclusive). It might be possible to do another project then, but I doubt I'll have time afterwards. I always enjoy a challenge though, if you can amend the terms to make them more feasible.

I should point out that some yet to be announced decisions might also frustrate your plan.

exactly, whats wrong with this!!!

EDIT: I mean, if i gave it to laz and let him sell for profits it would just get pirated, so might as well give it away in the first place.

The major source of funds for BoS would be the Admins pockets.
