At the moment I'm doing chemistry, physics, 3 unit maths, legal, adv. english and SOR 1 unit. I wanna pick up 4 unit maths...

You go to a Catholic School? Can you even drop Studies of Religion?

LOL I'm got 100% for religion and close to 100% for legal =/

What's better in terms of scaling?

HSC

Studies of Religion I 10 062
HSC 38.2 4.5 50.0 48.0 44.0 41.0 38.0 35.0
scaled 26.9 8.7 47.7 44.6 38.5 33.4 27.0 20.7

Legal Studies 8 644
HSC 37.1 6.6 49.0 47.5 44.5 42.0 38.0 33.0
scaled 25.3 10.7 50.0 45.4 39.2 33.6 26.0 17.2

It appears to me that SoR and Legal scale almost identically as well, if I'm interpreting the UAC info correctly.

I suppose the only thing I could add is that by dropping SoR you're left with the same workload after picking up MX2, whereas dropping Legal you'll have one unit less. Also, by dropping Legal, you'll be one less student I have to compete with next year :p

You should consider your ranks/marks in those subjects. If you still can not decide, I suggest you wait until a few weeks into Term 4, and then find out whether the HSC course is suited to you or not.
