Essay Question:

Discuss how the legal system fights crime while at the same time attempting to balance the interests of the community with the rights of the offender.

Anyone know of any cases, legislation, media reports etc I could use for this essay?
Also I was wondering if it would be good to begin the essay with a quote, just to be unique. Anyone have a quote relating to the interests of society and justice?

i dont reccommend a quote, it doesnt really help your answer, but if you think it'll make your work stand out, go for it.

Anti terror legislation- it doesnt do a good job of doing it though...
