• They may be becoming increasingly important in recent years due to the escalation of environmental problems such as global warming, marine pollution, the depletion of the ozone layer, atmospheric pollution. etc.
• Also, environmental rights are immensely important as they are seen as essential to securing other human rights such as the right to life.
• And environmental rights do not just relate to current generations but also to future generations.
