For the sciences where exactly do I end the line of best fit if it doesn't go through the last point

Thanks, so I don't pay attention to the y point of the last point at all?
For the line of best fit

ymodel = mxdata + b

The x-values of the line of best fit correspond to the x-values of the empirical data (the inputs). The y-values of the line correspond to the outputs of the linear model - which are not necessarily the same as the empirical y-values. Therefore, the line is limited by the x-values of the empirical data, not the empirical y-values.
