Hey guys, I just came up with an idea that might be handy for multiple choice. If we compile a list of all the important dates, when it comes to multiple choice, the chance of us struggling when they throw in a question date related will be dramatically reduced.

Just a thought *shrugs*

wik = 1996
Mabo = 1992
Yirrikiala (or something) = 1967 (not too sure on that one)
and there was something else in 1962, cant remember now thou

umm the uniting church was in 1977 (Congregational, MEthodist and Presbytarian)

ATSIC = 1990

1951 = assimiliation was official

1972- The establishment of a tent embassy outside Parliament House

Oh, and the Uniting Church was formed on the 22nd of June, 1977 (they asked for the exact date in a multiple choice question I did)

N/A
probably the main dates to be aware of are:
The formation of the Uniting Church
Wik
Mabo
WW1 and WW2
Vietnam
Federation (!!)
Inclusion of Aboriginal people in teh census
dates relating to religion and education (Goulburn etc)

Other dates they will give you (hopefully) but you should be able to use teh above to then place anythiing else in context

BTW you can work out the dates yourself...if you dont know them by now!

My opinion...stressing about dates for the MC ->probably not the most important thing to know (id be looking at knowing them more for the short answers if it were me) as it would be a poorly written question to give a MC where the answer was a date-eg when was the UC formed? a)=1976, b)=1977 etc- I would be hoping that they would require knowledge of content to answer a question, not memorisation of dates :)

If you know the content in thesyllabus (in particular the later parts of FS 1 and FS2), you should know your key dates for teh MC
