ah, this is getting to be a habit now. what do you ppl think? who should get custody?

This is such a confusing thing... i'm thinking probably the italian guy, as even though he's only her stepdad and not her biological dad, the mother's family have stepped in on his behalf and the girl herself seems to recognise him. So you'd think it would be less traumatic for the girl to go with him, seeing as she was apparently more used to him.

This of course doesn't answer the question of why the mother and the girl were at the Oz embassy getting citizenship and visa papers...
