What are people's experiences of living on campus in a college? Is it worth the extra money? I know most people in Australia don't live on campus and I was wondering whether we're missing out on part of the whole uni experience. The idea of living with friends next door and always having something going on close by is very appealing, but for me it would mean moving to Canberra (not so appealing) to go to ANU. If I didn't go, I would definitely go on exchange; do you think that would make up for missing out on college?

Most people don't live on campus in Australia because we're not like Americans who decide to move 3000 miles to go to the uni of their choice.

If you're interested, then go do it - even if only for a semester. Try it.

from what ive heard the main downpoints are costs and distraction from uni work. but i guess if you can manage those, then it would be fine. im going to try it for a year next year too, hopefully.
