LoLz, this is from SOLS mail. Are the girls doing LLB (who live in Sydney) going to take a trip down to UoW for the books?

From the stoopid LLB 210 head said:
To prepare for the lecture and seminar in the first week you must complete the folowing readings from that text ("C&H"):

C&H pp1-32
Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain v Boots, C&H p 33 & commentary [2.11]
Carlill v Carbolic Smoke Ball Company, C&H p 35 & commentary [2.17]
Australian Woollen Mills Pty Ltd v Cth, C&H p 118 & commentary [3.23]
Seppelt and Sons Ltd v Commissioner for Main Roads, C&H p 41 & commentary [2.22]

And WTF is this? Sure looks like a heap of work even before I've had enough time to recover from the gay exams last semester. :(

Yeah, it's the LS case used in "Law and Society" (HSC course) to illustrate what Contract Law is - at least in Heinemann textbook that's what it is. Nothing like some smoke to cure the common flu!

To do with invitation to treat. Display of products is not an offer. Display of product is an invitation to treat ie to make an offer.

Carlill v Carbolic Smoke Ball Company, C&H p 35 & commentary [2.17]

Uniliaterial contract. Acceptance occurs with preformance.

Law will kick your arse, all your arses, all the time. By knowing the law you are the law!

Shit... that's not good. Santa is potentially the law - unless he fails.

*Anticipates many more incoherent pieces of legislation and judgements*
