We have to do an assignment involving tests on a local creek. I am ok with the tests and results but we are asked to suggest future care strategies for the creek area. From our results we found that the water quality is pretty good, despite the fact that it is commonly believed to be bad due to the smell it puts off after rain or when it gets really low....
so what can i suggest for future care of the creek???

cheers

Hey,

You could say something like despite smells of the creek which are probably due to natural bacteria and decay, the 'health' of the creek is fairly good. Future management strategies include maintaining the positive ones already in place (as evident by the positive results of tests performed) and addressing any problems as they arise, like possible illegal dumping and patrolling by council rangers and preventing littering by performing frequent clean ups.

And for example, if you found some tests too high, like phosphates, you could recommend council requesting residents near the creek to reduce use of fertilisers and detergents on their lawns etc.
