Hey i just started logarithms and i need some help

1) how do i do exponential that are difficult like whats the trick for eg this Question Log4 1/2 or log3 1/9

2) How do i do questions like this ( Never done them before so please show working out ) Find the value of Log2 1 what is the value of Log a 1?

Log to the base anything of 1 is always zero.

The first one is -1/2 NOT -2

4^x = 1/2
2^2x = 2^-1
2x = -1
x = -1/2

i get - 0.5 for this one

Log4 1/2 = (log1/2)/(log4) = - 0.5 ??
