I actually wrote something similar in an exam and got 1/2 marks
The experiment proved that there was no relative motion to the ether
These results were interpreted as the ether doesnt exist

Yeah, I have changed my view, after doing some more reading and discussing. The MM experiment did not disprove the ether but it did support Einstein's theory of Special Relativity because the theory explained the results that MM attained...So I suppose what you said is correct, that there is no motion of the earth relative to the ether (hence if it doesnt exist, then there is no standard reference frame in the universe -> a postulate of Special Relativity)
