You can do either, but its easier to transfer internally.
i.e, costs less, (no UAC fees), less paperwork, and requirements may be easier to meet.

but for applied finance and economics and stuff its higher but a normal commerce degree is just pass to transfer degrees

you may think this is easy but yeahh they say macquarie is heaps flexible and stuff but i dont think it is theres soo many pre requisites to get into specific subjects and stuff n e way u'll find that out later

The best advice i can give is to find the course you want to transfer into, and try and find cores (mandatory subjects) within that degree, and try and do them during your first year, so you get credit for them.

commerce is like a 2.0 gpa
which is pretty much just passing all your subjects first sem.

it depends on your gpa. i dont think they consider what units you actually do.

much like the uai/hsc really. Which is fair enough- after all, there are heaps of prats who do nothing but science and maths who manage to claw themselves into law with their high uai (while people who do more relevant low scaling stuff get rejected). i can't see the problem with someone who is good at arts units getting themselves into commerce through uni marks.

It really depends on what you want to transfer into. Certain degrees specify that you have to complete certain subjects before you are able to transfer. E.g. Actuarial Studies and Law.
