major project? is that just a huuuge assessment?
we had ours in term 1, it was a 2-part thing running for 5 weeks. it was on a video shop and how to get it to run on a computerised system. it crossed over 2 topcs: project work and information systems and for the finale we had to design a database for the videos etc.
it was too much work for a small percentage of our assessment mark. we also did stuff on decision support systems and multimedia based on the same scenario recently for another assessment; soo much easier.

our skool did one for multimedia... we had to make a multimedia presentation

oh man that is pretty crazy!
I need to do two major works.. one on relational database which is due like term 1 week 5 and the other is a multimedia presentation about the school (and i got 6 week extension, sweet
) due like week 9 last term~~ its all over now... only thing left? HSC!sounds really interesting but hard as well! how do you do it del?

ahh the system is database driven
so it's a website with like a backend database..... Used ASP to achieve it......
Yup, we could basically pick anything as long as it was related to the course, so like databases, multimedia learning kits... etc whatever

OMG!?!? are you serious! we had to do exactly the same as eachother, soo much competition. was it just one assessment then? or did you have other little ones too?

we've had assessments on every topic...
communications - test

transaction processing systems - assignment
multimedia and transaction were 2 assignments chucked into one.. basically there was a multimedia part and a tps part.... 35%
project is only 15%!.. makes me wonder why im doing something huge.... but its good fun so yeah......

hehe.. we have word limits....
so that we only write down what is required to get us the marks....
but some crazy ppl like me always go over.. by *alot*.....
hell my current one is 52 pages already...
so much for saving the trees (im an EES-er too )

Ours was stated as 2000 words. Knowing Das (our teacher), mind you, anyone that writes more than 5000 will probably get close to full marks...

A CD-ROM year book ? Are you on the formal committee by any chance, Natalie ?
yes. a cd rom year book. it was a blast to make. we had songs, video's of ppl in the year, slide show of normal shots then a funny photos section. i suppose i liked it a little more coz i would love to be a graphic designer.
